I see that some features have been deprecated or scheduled for removal from REALbasic. What does this mean?

We are deprecating and removing functionality from REALbasic to provide the best possible product for our users. We are removing some features so we can focus more on the needs of our users, but we are not going to leave anyone out in the cold. Major functionality will not be deprecated/removed until we have a suitable replacement.

  • "Deemphasize" means that we are not doing active development on the feature, and that we do not intend to implement any new features. This feature will be deprecated in a future release, once a suitable replacement has been found.
  • When a feature is "deprecated" that means we are not doing any active development on the feature and do not intend to impement any new features, nor fix any bugs. This means that the feature will be removed in the future and we will specify a target removal date. View list of deprecations.
  • "Removal" is when the feature is removed entirely from the product and documentation.
